2006 GULF 32
A new Gulf 32 is born
The 2006 Demo boat is nearly complete and can be seen by appointment. Over the next few weeks as the last touches are done we expect to be able to continue to update this page with pictures. The quality of the craftsmanship is world class and can easily be seen.
The hull is 100% hand laid solid FRP and at least 1/2" thick throughout the hull and deck. It gets thicker from the water line toward the bottom of the keel 3/4"-1". The deck is not cored, but reinforced in high traffic and areas traditionally prone to stress. The interior liner as shown in the photos runs 80% of the length of the hull and comes up well above the water line creating exceptional hull stiffness and strength. Once the deck is positioned the liner, hull and deck are glassed together to create a very strong watertight hull deck joint.
The interior cabinetry is cherry with mahogany trim.
The year long process has included:
- Repair and updates to the Gulf 32 molds purchased from Capital Yachts in 2004
- Design, planning and manufacture of templates and molds for all interior components (tanks, bulkheads, stringer systems etc)
- Layup of all fiberglass parts: hull, liner, deck, roof, hatches
- Assembly of all fiberglass components
- Installation of bulkheads, interior cabinetry and custom sole
- Installation of engine, electrical and plumbing systems
- Rigging and sails
